Photo Research and Permissions
The first step in producing a successful product is listening to our clients. We take your vision and develop creative ideas and concepts while working closely with your authors and editorial teams. This process includes reviewing the text manuscript to conceptualize visuals; producing art and photo manuscripts; generating original ideas for competitive purposes; turning plain and visually challenged titles into stimulating pages; and communicating our combined vision to our creative designers and illustrators for exceptional work.
Thinking about how art development can work for your eBooks? We can review manuscript or printed editions to make suggestions for animated features, interactive exercises, informational pop-ups, and other marketable features to fit each specific project.
With our 17 years of educational illustration experience, we can handle every subject and situation, no matter how challenging. Our experience in this area has led us to train and mentor offshore art teams so that our clients can have cost-saving options that fit their art budgets and provide a high-quality product.
Behind every great book is a great design. We work with composition studios to develop new and updated interior designs, as well as stunning covers for school, higher education, and college titles. Our educational designs do not stop at publishing. We also develop designs for patient education brochures, posters, and pamphlets.
The right photo can enhance a visual program. During the development process we search for new photos to make suggestions that modernize, enhance, or simply improve existing educational images.

“The in-table art looks great. The graphics are phenomenal, especially where art complimented difficult content.”

"Jodie at Lightbox acted as Art Director on our iLit series. She was a dream to work with because she had a superb creative touch. She also was wonderful at listening to what we wanted and worked with a team of designers to make sure our needs came to life on the page. There was no question we wanted her as the Art Director for our next series."
